Tampere residents as eCitizens
According to surveys commissioned by Infocity, Tampere residents’ knowledge society resources have developed well during the last five years. For example, 65 percent had an internet connection at their disposal in 2000, and by the end of 2005, 80 percent were almost daily users.
During eTampere, the city developed both online and other services for citizens, provided guidance in their use and promoted their availability. Read more about the development of online democracy, the eTampere smart card and the availability of services through Netti-Nysse, eTupa and public terminals.
eTampere also brought to the fore numerous stories about how citizens experienced the knowledge society in their everyday lives. You can find some examples here.
