eTampere’s objectives and activities
eTampere builds a humanly sustainable knowledge societyeTampere was an extensive, diverse and innovative cooperation programme to which the region’s educational and research establishments, business life, government, organizations, communities and citizens each contributed their expertise and input. The aim was to transform Tampere into the world’s leading city in knowledge society development by strengthening the knowledge base, creating new business activity and introducing new public online services
The programme focused on need-driven services based on technological innovation, with the aim of achieving an active, participating and influential citizenship, business development and deeper international cooperation. The programme’s activities were arranged through six sub-programmes and coordinated by the eTampere Office.
